Juliette Cleuziou is Assistant professor at the University Lumières-Lyon 2. She has been working on issues of kinship, gender relations and marriage economy in Tajikistan, and she is currently leading a two-year programme on death in migration in the post-Soviet Central Asian-Russian space.
Cleuzious research interests are Central Asian and Russian studies, Ritual and Ritual Economy, Gender and Kinship, and Migration. She has a PhD in Social Anthropology. Her dissertation was titled "Marriage, De-marriage, Re-marriages. Ritual, gender and kinship in contemporary Tajikistan".
