In the summer semester of 2016, the field of general sociology and cultural sociology introduced a Methods Lab to support university research and for use in student projects. The lab has modern technical equipment for computer-assisted qualitative data analysis, which can be used for work involving video-based interaction analysis, among other things. The Methods Lab offers especially the following services:
- Assistance with video recordings
- Help with editing and transcribing video recordings with appropriate hardware and software
- Video and other types of data analysis (images, texts, interviews, etc.) in groups of up to 20 people
- Storage of larger data volumes
- Provision of datasets for secondary analyses (available on request)
- Use of the facilities for video experiments and the like
