Media of Praxeology II: History of Audiovisual Sequence Analysis as a Methodology
Project within the DFG-Collaborative Research Center 1187 „Media of Cooperation“, Siegen University
In this project, we reconstruct the history of audio-visual sequence analysis as a history of data practices, which were developed and transformed in various transatlantic and interdisciplinary reception processes. The project is organized in six case studies, based on comprehensive archival research and oral history interviews in Germany, UK, and the US. The work program includes a systematic reflection of our own data practices (aiming at a methodology of historical praxeology) as well as annual workshops with local and international guests and two bigger conferences in cooperation with other projects in the SFB.
