Start of the (online) event series on the Hamas-Israel war and anti-Semitism
Expert lectures, an exhibition and workshops provide background knowledge about the Middle East conflict and anti-Semitism and aim to combat antisemitism with fact-based knowledge
In the series of events starting on April 16 in cooperation with Tel Aviv University, experts will provide information on the historical background of the Hamas-Israel war, the current political situation in Israel and its impact on the sharp rise in antisemitism in Germany. Academics from various disciplines will discuss the historical, political, sociological and psychological aspects of the Hamas-Israel war and address the increase in antisemitism. Two (hybrid) face-to-face events complete the series: the visit of the Federal Commissioner for Jewish Life in Germany and the Fight against Anti-Semitism, Felix Klein, on April 24 and the presentation of a new study on antisemitism at universities on July 2, which will be discussed jointly by Thomas Hinz, Director of Studies, and Hanna Veiler, President of the Jewish Student Union Germany (JSUD). The series of events is open to the public; registration via the website is required for the online lectures. More information and the registration links can be found on the website. The poster with all dates is available for download here.
