Student Survey: "Studying in Germany during the Corona Pandemic"
Project start: 01.05.2020 - Project end: 30.04.2021
This survey examined the impact of the Corona pandemic on students at German universities. The focus was on the specifics, challenges and opportunities of a largely digital summer semester 2020. What challenges are students facing? What is their employment and financial situation like? And to what extent is it possible to study successfully under the given circumstances? These and many other questions guided this study.
The study "Studying in Germany in Times of the Corona Pandemic" was conducted in cooperation with the DZHW - German Center for Higher Education and Science Research. In order to gain a realistic picture of the situation of students in Germany, about 200,000 students from 24 state universities of different sizes, subject structures and regional locations selected nationwide were invited to participate. The results of the survey are relevant for numerous measures in the areas of higher education, education and social policy. Initial publications have already appeared. More information can also be found on the DZHW website.
The project was completed in April 2021. As a new joint project, "One for All. The Student Survey in Germany" was launched in May 2021.
